Brand: Boutique Blends

Line: Aging Room M21

Size: Fortissimo (5.75”x 47)

Wrapper: Dominican-grown Habano

Binder: Dominican-grown Habano

Filler: Dominican-grown Habano

Strength: Full

Construction:

The Aging Room M21 comes skillfully draped in a chestnut-brown Dominican-grown Habano wrapper and is finished with a taught pigtail cap. The wrapper leaf is nearly flawless with a few small veins. The length of the cigar is perfectly filled with no soft spots. I removed the cap using a double-blade stainless steel guillotine cutter which sliced cleanly, leaving no shards of filler tobacco.

Flavor & Cold Draw:

The pre-light aroma is pleasantly sweet with hints of nutmeg and almonds. The cold draw is a bit tight but gives off plenty of earthy and coco flavors. The wrapper leaves a hint of citrus on the tongue as well as some white pepper. Once lit, the flavor profile is strong and complex with notes of earth, leather, and bread with a nice peppery finish. The earth and leather continue throughout the smoke but are joined by a delicious saltiness in the second third. The final third develops a strong, rich tobacco flavor.

Burn & Smoking Characteristics:

The cigar lights perfectly using a Vector KGM Burner Lighter. The burn is slow and steady with a total smoking time of about 75 minutes. The ash is white and flakey and drops every half to 3/4inch. The draw is perfect and produces huge plumes of flavorful smoke.

Conclusion:

It is very rare that I get a buzz off of a cigar, but the M21 knocked me on my ass. It is incredibly flavorful with a nice depth to it. The draw and burn are wonderful but the ash is a hair too flakey. It is the perfect cigar to wind down at the end of a long, hard day, but I am definitely glad I ate before I smoked it. Fantastic!
