Brand: Cuesta-Rey
Line: Centro Fino Sungrown
Size: Belicoso # 11 (4 7/8” x 50)
Wrapper: Ecuadorian-grown Sumatra seed
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican Ligero
Strength: Medium to Full

Construction:

This tiny cigar is elegantly draped in a soft Ecuadorian grown wrapper and finished with a prim torpedo cap. The length is strong and firm.

Flavor & Cold Draw:

The pre-light aroma is rich and nutty. The cold draw shows flavors of citrus and salt. The flavor profile is consistent throughout the cigar: toasted peanuts with a citrus finish.

Burn & Smoking Characteristics:

The draw is incredibly tight turning the activity into a chore rather than a relaxing hobby. The burn is even but too hot so I had to put the cigar out pretty early. The ash is flakey and drops often.

Conclusion:

I was not very impressed by this stick. The flavor was good but the effort that I had to put into smoking it made it a rather unpleasant experience. Like most cigars, it is always best to place in a well maintained cigar humidor prior to smoking.
